Next Science Café on May 16, 2012
Join us for a free public forum on new science research of special interest and importance. Talks by leading scientists, are held at 7:30 PM on the third Wednesday of the month from October through June, followed by discussion and refreshments. This series is sponsored by the Faculty of Science at the University of Windsor. The April Café is replaced by our Earth Day Dinner on April 25. Biochemist Dr. Michael Boffa will present the café in May on Blood clotting.
Curriculum-Based Class Programs 2012
Bring your school class for an exciting program of hands-on science activities. There are several curriculum-based workshops to choose from. Full-day and half-day programs are available.
Attend the Canadian Science Writers' Association Conference 2012 in Windsor
Communication of science is a top priority of Canada South Science City. The conference this year is being held from June 2 to 5 at the University of Windsor and is open to the public for a modest registration fee. Why not join them and meet some of Canada's top science communicators?
TD Friends of the Environment supports Science City!
Science City was successful in winning a $5000 grant from TD Friends of the Environment to support the delivery of curriculum-based school workshops based on our world-class Biodiversity exhibit. The grant will enable about 1000 additional students experience the importance of preserving biodiversity in the world today. Thank you, TDFEF!!
Membership in CASC
Science City is a proud member of the Canadian Association of Science Centres (CASC) and participates in their reciprocal program of free admissions. If you are a member of another participating CASC centre, you have free admission to Science City. Conversely, if you are a member of Science City, your membership card will also give you free general admission to other CASC centres across Canada.
Summer Job Opportunities at Science City
Thanks to employment grants from Service Canada's Canada Summer Jobs program and from Young Canada Works, we are accepting applications for three minimum-wage summer positions beginning as early as the end of May 2012: To apply for the positions of Programming Assistant or Marketing Assistant, please register at the Young Canada Works website and call us for an interview. Summer Science Day Camp
